Centrino is not the name of a CPU product Like Intel Pentium Core 2 DUO but it is a mobile platform specific made by Intel.This term covers a particular combination of motherboard chipset, and wireless network interface mobile CPU is designed for notebook / laptop.
Platform is claimed to provide better performance, battery age and a longer wireless network interoperability capabilities more broadly.
People always assume that centrino is a processor, in this one as big as described, Centrino is a platform with specific components that have been defined by Intel.
The architecture Platform itself depicts a group of hardware or a software framework that allows software to run. It can be a hardware platform, operating system, programming language or GUI.
Generation Centrino
Currently, the Centrino platform has a five-generation, first generation with the codename Caramel released in 2003 based on CPU Pentium M.In July 2004 Intel Centrino Platform release the second generation, known as codename Sonoma.
Then on the third generation, the Centrino platform began using the ability of dual core processing, this generation is known as codename Napa.
Fourth generation of the codename Santa Rosa is divided into two versions, the Centrino Duo and Centrino Pro is only a difference in the remote management technology that is owned by the Centrino Pro.
Fifth generation known as the codename Montevina also released two versions, 2 and Centrino 2 with centrino teknolgi vPro.
Also note that Intel never issued a draft Celeron Centrino platform.
